Default A little help please??? - HDMI connection working now

Hi all, I recently purchased a Sony Blu ray player at best buy. I really like it but I decided to go from s video to HDMI cable. I switched the choice in the setup, and the blu ray workded fine with hdmi at first, but now i cant get it to work. THe player is plying the disc but I get no picture or signal. I checked the cables and all seems fine as when I shift my input selection to the proper input, the tv (sharp 42"aquos) displayes HDMI input 5. But the blu ray splash screen does not appear as it did at first, just black??
any ideas???

all help appreciated.

if you've already checked all your connections and made sure your settings are correct the only other advice i can give you would to be checking for firmware updates.

Replace the HDMI cable. A buddy of mine had the same thing happen.

I have had the same problem, I found out it was my TV (Sony KDL-V40A10)not seeing the player. I recycled the TV a couple of times (on/off) with the HDMI cable disconected. Then reconected the HDMI and it started seeing it again. I also checked my TV settings. Hope this helps

i recommend you to use a composite cable the yellow one for video and disconnect your hdmi cable.Next check if your screen got a picture on the composite video if it does,go and check your display settings in the player setup to see if HDMI output is disabled if it is just enable it or if possible to use automatic settings for your display HDTV.

hopefully my recommendation does work for you.

Yeah, hook it up w/composite to look at settings menu....when you switch to hdmi, you need to let the player know. i have the 52" sharp w/the sony blu ray....once you get it set up, you're gonna love the PQ!!

ok thnx guys. I did a cupple of things. I recycled the power on the tv. Unplugged it at the wall. Also the same with the blu ray player, I then re connected the HDMI cable and used the input 4 slot. (shouldnt make a difference). But anyway, it works now. Not sure which was the fix but thnx for the help. Maybe just a cable connect?? I dunno.
