OMG im so excited. this is one of my fav movies ever. the blu ray looks jaw dropping in every way possible. day one purchase
the bad news is: there will be no atmos or DTS:X and the reason why is because its FOX. FOX only release atmos if the movie originally had it in the theatre and prometheus did not so they will not upgrade the audio ![]() Last edited by DJJez; 04-04-2017 at 09:22 PM. |

WB is only including it with Kong so they have an excuse to charge $40 for the Steelbook. ![]() |

I'd be surprised if the Kong Steelbook still has 3D by the time it actually releases.
Also with Prometheus, it's not a matter of just including the 3D, they'd probably have to include the extra bonus disc, which is two extra BDs, which would jack up the price. |

Has there ever been a case where UHD re-grading has been applied for the 4K release, then reverse engineered to a new standard blu-ray mastering...such that the new look is emulated for the 1080p HD format?

Good title but I'm not buying. I'm not a 3D fan but I must admit that the 3D version I have (which I bought dirt cheap a year and a half after its release) is the way to go.
Alien and Aliens should be released also, they already have 4K master for these two movies as they were scanned and restored in 4K. Just do an HDR pass and that's it. |

Thank god, the last thing we need is audio mix revisionism. I've been very disappointed in seeing all of these UHD releases ditch the theatrical mix, and I'm glad to see Fox is a bastion of hope. At least in my eyes, they aren't "upgrades" so much as perversion of the art work.
