Default Watchmen rated R!!!!!!!

Rated R for strong graphic violence, sexuality, nudity and language.

It appears very promising. It could be a blockbuster or a dud, nothing in between.

That's awesome. Technically we could have predicted this knowing his work on 300 but nonetheless still has a surprising effect and makes wonderful news, knowing the boundaries will be pushed once again.

The success or failure of this movie will be very important in how future superhero related movies are handled. I hope it does monster business for the sake of future movies. Will a hard R-rated comic book movie appeal to moviegoers?

I haven't heard anything so it must not be much of an issue anymore. But i'm not 100% sure.

This is good news, even though I'm not familiar with the Watchmen story.

If you have a few hours a day.I suggest read the graphic novel first. Its a hard read because of the way the story go back and forth in time plus there is also a back story going on at the same time.
According to reports the movie suppose to be true to the book with minor changes.I do hope that its a blockbuster which will lead the the way for future dark superhero movie.

If this has been done to ensure that the film follows the graphic novel theme in it's entirety then i'm glad as some films try to cut out things to hit say a 12a instead of a 15 a la The Dark Knight

Great movie but imagine how much more impact it would have had if they allowed blood, quick example in TDK is the bank manager hit by a spray of bullets, not wild amounts of blood but a little would have highly increased the impact

Movie looks promising & look forward to it

An "R" Rateing for TDK would have limited the audiance and the box office take as it will with The Watchman

I guess I can see where you're coming from, somewhat, but it was such a quick shot/scene. I think it was a pretty intense scene, anyway.

It's not the easiest read. I wonder how it will translate as far as the story telling goes. The images from the trailers look amazing and true to the graphic novel but like Moefiz says its the story telling that might turn your average Joe off. The fact that it's R rated bodes well for the 'true to the story' adaptation but also will bring down the gross of the film quite a bit. This will be an interesting movie to monitor receipt-wise.

I haven't read the novel, but i'm planning to before the movie comes out. My question is, is their much nudity in the novel or is that just for the movie?

There's plenty of nudity. Most of it from this guy (they are not censoring any of it from what I understand)
