Cool f'in cover. Not a movie I feel the need to own though. Maybe for $5 in a few years.

I only saw it once way back, and I kinda liked it too. I can get on a vampire, dracula, monster kick sometimes. Nice trio of boxes and listings with this, Van Helsing and Bram Stoker's.

Can't remember if I saw it or not , for sure I'll get it.

EDIT: I remember that the trailers had some pretty good scenes, so definitely worth a buy (if they don't mess up the transfer)

Very awesome cover. Still haven't seen this though, and don't really intend to. But hey, at least this one will hopefully be a decent disk.

This isn't exactly what I meant by needing some horror UHDs...

But something's better than nothing, I guess.

Might actually get this. Briefly owned a cheap used copy of the Steelbook but I got rid of it for some reason during one of my purges.

And yeah, awesome cover.

Isn't this part of the new Universal Monster Cinematic Universe thing? Coming out to coincide with the new mummy I'd assume then? If it is the same thing and I like the new Mummy I may pick this up since its a series

I'm not sure they ever spoke officially about it but yeah, the "insider" rumor was that the disappointing performance of this made them cancel plans for it to be the first entry. Now The Mummy is the first entry.

Damn that's a cool cover. This is one of those borderline films for me so a good 4k release could get back into my collection.

That's correct. It was originally gonna launch that franchise. Now it's being ignored in favor of The Mummy.

I don't think they should just throw it away. What are they gonna do? Make another Dracula or not use the character for their monsters universe? Just tie it in ala The Incredible Hulk.

It's too bad this was finished at 2K. But even so, this movie has gorgeous, real-film cinematography the likes of which is rarely seen in modern movies. So much low, natural lighting. I'm excited to see it in HDR.

I thought it was pretty bad, generic, if not borderline unwatchable at times. I'm fine with them pretending it never happened and starting Dracula anew.

But I'm concerned for Mummy as well (I seriously thought the Mummy was another Mission Impossible when I first saw the preview, the "Mummy Impossible" jokes were just too obvious). That doesn't necessarily mean it will be horrible or have the same issues I found with Dracula, but not really the vibe I was hoping for out of these Monsters reboots. Hopefully the trailers are not too indicative of the whole film.
