Default Problem with Wall-E

I bought Wall-E a couple weeks, ago. And while this doesn't bother me a lot, there's this little hickup in the sound after the logos where it skips over the first Half-second of music in the film.

Anyone else got this problem? Is Disney issuing a replacement program or something?

no problem whatsoever with my copy of Wall-e... check your firmware for your blu-ray player or the copy of Wall-E you purchased may actually be defective.

What player do you have? On the PS3 turning off the 7.1 pcm options fixes it. Not sure about other players.

Default Unable to Decode 5.1

The previews are all decoded in dolby 5.1 using the PS3. But as soon as I select Play in the menu, the actual movie is simulated PLII game?? Have looked for any settings that I can change before playback - but haven't found any. Does anyone know if I am missing something?

Needs more information: your player, receiver, and connection type (HDMI, optical cable, etc) between the two.

Thanks for your prompt reply. My player is the PS3 - audio is optically coupled to a Denon AVR-3805 I bought 3 years ago (the video is output to the TV via HDMI). This is the first Blu Ray disc I have tried with the PS3 I just received. Game discs (and even the previews on the Wall-E disc itself) are decoded properly. But as soon as I hit "Play" from the movie menu - all I get is Dolby PLII.

my PS3 does the exact same thing on this (wonderful) BD. If I rewind or chapter back, it doesn't usually happen the 2nd time. I think it's an issue as the audio track switches from the opening Walt Disney logo and Pixar Logo, to the actual film...weird...

I'm on my second (replacement) copy of Wall-E and both have major sound issues (skipping and dropping out) throughout the movie unfortunately.

May be a decoding issue with my system ?

I'm using a PS3 with audio output via optical to a Sunfire Theatre Grand III.
Both units have the latest firmware.

Much appreciated if anybody has any insight.

Thanks Big Blue, but I may be stupid or something (ahem), but I can't find any such option in the interface under the current firmware.

Hadn't heard of this fix, but the relevant settings on the PS3 are found in the XMB>Settings>Sound Settings>Audio Output Settings. More in the online manual here.

Thanks Joe.

I'm aware of the options under Audio Output and had tried adjusting accordingly before posting in this thread.
I turned off everything above 48k output but the problem persists.
(There is no 7.1 PCM option to turn on or off in my settings for some reason).

It'll be interesting to see if anybody else is having problems.

Ah, well, actually that only makes sense: if you're connected through optical I guess the menu won't offer the option for 7.1 PCM because optical couldn't carry it anyway.

Hope something helpful develops.
