Default Panasonic SA-BX500

I am not in the market for a receiver, but does anyone know anything about this receiver. I think this is panasonics first attempt at a AVR. It supposedly has DTS HD and DD THD decoding and 130w/ch.

Good Call out.

No, I haven't heard it, but for the price, there are much better options that probably do sound better and are able to upconvert, which this one doesn't. If this is your pricepoint, I would highly suggest looking at the Onkyo 606, Pioneer 1018, or the Yamaha V-663. All of these are better built systems than the Panasonic.

I wasn't trying to call you out, I was excited to think someone might have actually heard it. I am not expecting much of it, just more curious if they actually did a decent job or not.

No I don't need a receiver I just bought the Sony 920, and it is awesome. I looked at all the receivers you listed, My favorite was the Pio, but I bought the Sony, which was right there with the other 2.

Anyways, I didn't think the panasonic was worth the $799 price tag either, but was basically just trying to see if someone out there heard it and what they thought.

I wouldn't trade my Sony at all.
