Horton Hears a Who - Won't Play - Blu-ray Forum

The disc seems to work fine until it gets to the main menu, and when i try to play the movie none of the buttons on my remote will do anything. I press enter to play, i press play, i press all of the arrow buttons and nothing happens, the menu wont work and wont let me play the movie. The eject and power buttons work on the remote, and i even tried putting in new batteries, but it still didnt work.

Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it?

I had a similar problem on my Samsung BD-P1500 bluray player. It would get to the menu, but when i pressed play, it would just start the menu over again. No matter what I did, I could not get the menu to play. I had just gotten the bluray player though, so I did a firmware update via the Ethernet connection and now it plays just fine.

Do you have the latest firmware for your player?

Well i thought i did, haha. I guess they released a new one on Halloween and i didnt know about it. I'll update it and it should work. Thanks.

Horton Hears a Who will not play at all on my BDP-S300. Front display shows "can't play disc". I have never had this happen before. I have the latest firmware update 4.3 installed prior to my attempt to watch this movie.. Other new Blu-ray discs play including Dark Knight flawlessly and regular discs play.. Is this my player or will 4.4 fix this? Sony support wants me to send player in. I am hesitant because other blu-ray movies work.. The only other disc I have ever had a problem with this player was The Incredible Hulk..It would load to the menu but shut down when trying to play movie. This was fixed with v4.2...

Try re-installing the firmware version 4.3, could have been a bad install.
