Default Horton Hears a Who

http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/ho...who/large.html

Looks promising as they didn't try and live-action it and kept the thing artistically the same as the book.

Can't wait to see it on Blu-ray as the trailer looks stunning in terms of quality.

Saw the trailer amonth or so ago

Honestly, you can't stuff a Dr. Seuss book into 2 hours without taking major, and usually very poor liberties.

They fit nicely into half and hour

They're showing "Cat in the Hat" on ABC, atm, and I have an all-new loathing for book-phobic Hollywood producers who think they can "improve" on Dr. Seuss by being "wacky" enough.

This one looks like it's only got traces of the live-action "Grinch" poison remaining in its bloodstream:
Try to make Seuss "contemporary" by turning Whos into contemporary suburban sitcom-parodies, and then stick on Jim Carrey to make it Even Funnier, just in case.

(Well, at least they got the look right....And maybe we'll get a new edition of the Chuck Jones version.)

I just hope that this will be slightly better than the Cat In The Hat or How The Grinch Stole Christmas. Both were absolutley terrible, and Mike Myers and Jim Carrey looked horrible in the make up. Sorry but the original short cartoons are the ones I'd prefer to see on BD.

well both were updated for contemporary audiences and done in live action. I think they could do a 90 minute cartoon that would still show some faith to the original without sacrificing anything.

Visually it looks good. Scripting...we'll see. So far, I'm holding out hope.

The second you insert anything not in the original text, that's "getting creative", and should never be done without the author's permission. Since he's dead, you're stuck.

Much better to simply do an anthology movie

Gotta say...I have ALWAYS loved the classic Grinch cartoon & read the story a lot as a kid, too. I personally liked How The Grinch Stole Christmas. Some things could have been a little less Hollywood and more Seusian, but I never expect things to be done with the true fans/artists in mind. I did not enjoy the Cat in the Hat w/ Mr. Meyers, though. That one just got really old really fast. We'll just have to wait and see how this turns out.
