Default Dish-network

So I have lived my entire like without cable or satellite. Not because I couldn't afford it but because I never really wanted it.

Now my dad has Dish-network but only SD. I'm considering paying the extra $25 (current offer) a month for the HD package. I know DirectTV is better but thats not an option right now. So who can share their opinions and experiences with Dishnetwork's HD package.

FYI: among other things, the menu/tv guide thing is important to me. My friend has Comcast HD and when hes lookin for something to watch the menu is in ugly SD. I know DirectTV has HD menus. Which, now that I think about it, does Comcast have HD menus and my friend just doesnt know how to switch that option on or w.e?

I've had Dish for a year now and am very happy with the HD. Well worth the $$ if you have an HDTV. Iam going to be switching to DirecTV though because I am NFL Nut! Oh yeah the menus are fine. You can adjust them to your liking and have favorites listed only. I have special categories like networks, sports and music channels, so I dont have to search thru all the channels. It also has a good search feature.

My father chose dish over direct due to the cheaper hardware and he seems happy with it. I've never had dish no cannot offer any opinion at all.

well I have the $80 month hd package & get around 300 channels, with about 50 hd channels, including about 10+ free commercial free channels , 1 being hd.

I have had dish for about 10years now. Dish is better then DirectTV, DirectTV uses more compression then Dishnetwork
