I have 7 titles with slipcovers, so that's not too much. But that's still 7 titles which could have come with a nice 8-page booklet.
I got the two Bond sets for my birthday (sorry I didn't invite you all to the party), once i opened the first one I brought them both back and bought them all seperate. cost me an additional $30 but it was worth it. Harry potter boxset sucked large too!

I thought the digibook cases were neat. My problem is that if that hub breaks or the plastic cracks there's no replacing unless you buy another copy of the same disc.

Of the titles that I own the Omen set was designed by Lucifer himself

not that easily...

I'm the father of 5 kids, so, I know what these babies are capable of withstanding....trust me..I've stepped on the top side of Sleeping Beauty and slid a few inches before stopping and there was nothing on the data side that didn't buff out with a few seconds of rubbing it.

It's not a freaking myth either...it wasn't something that magically "changed" when Blu-ray won the format war...companies didn't decide to reduce the thickness of the coating to make up some cost differences.

I've rented a few from BlockBuster. I've seen what look like scratches. Possibly they'd buff out, but I never tried that.

The Digibooks are far from flimsy. I have a couple and they both seem very sturdy to me.

The only BD set I have that has crappy packaging is the Pixar Shorts/Ratatouille double pack, the box seems to be made from paper rather than cardboard and could probably be blown out of shape by a light breeze.

I never said it was easy. But it's also not impossible. I have received a few brand new titles that have scratches in them that NO amount of buffing would remove (and believe me, I tried). Baraka was one of them. There have also been 1 or 2 titles that I have seen get scratched after they were opened - Lionsgate titles in particular seem to come from a manufacturer that uses lower quality coating.

Default Casablanca Packaging Annoying Rip-Off

Casablanca Worst Packaging: Too big, flimsy sleeve covers bullet proof box with crappy trinkets. The lattice case should have been on heaver stock and the box holding the 'uninteresting passport & luggage tag' makes the whole thing twice its size! An irritating waste of space; but I have a solution. I'm going to shrink wrap some sand, label it 'Exclusive Moroccan Sand' and slide it into the offending box! Cigarette butts were suggested. There is a nice coffee table book & lobby cards inside; and the discs have lots of extras.
24 hrs. and the lattice die cut Casablanca cover is already falling apart. Now it's an 'arts & craft' project; thank you. Warners' art department has been taken over by turnips from outer space. The special packaging is a rip-off, but the discs are worth it.

This is easy as I have had the same problem with each of these purchases:

1) Shawshank Redemption

Digibook plastic disc holder broken.
Specs sheet not apart of case and peels off. What the heck am I supposed to do with the spec sheet now. In the case of Shawshank Redemption, the specs are not apart of the digibook.

2) Austin Powers Trilogy

Specs sheet not apart of case and peels off. Not as bad as Shawshank Redemption because the specs are apart of the individual cases, but the cases are super slim.

3) Planet of the Apes Box Set

Specs sheet not apart of case and peels off. I love the packaging otherwise, but like Shawshank Redemption, the specs are no where else to be found.

I have decided to frame these specs sheetss couple of mishaps and put them on the wall.

I don't like the Warner digibooks. I wouldn't agree that they are flimsy - my dislike is based on the fact that they are both deeper and taller than standard Blu-ray cases, so they stick out (and up) like a sore thumb among the rest of my BD collection. In fact, I've only bought one digibook title, 'JFK', and I'm just treating it as a stop-gap until it's released elsewhere in a standard case.

Also, I'm puzzled that one earlier poster in this thread reckons that the sheet of paper stuck to the back of the digibook is supposed to be a throwaway. It shows useful information about the disc contents and technical specifications that is not shown anywhere else in the documentation, so I wouldn't want to discard it - but this information should be printed on the back of the digibook, not just stuck on with a couple of bits of gunge, apparently as an afterthought. That's really shoddy.

Drop one on a tile or wood floor. Preferably so one of the corners hits first.

(Or have one shipped from amazon in a bubble bag...)

Drop em, they get damaged, they're flimsy.

(Similarly, ship em stupidly, they get damaged, they're flimsy.)

Then quite a few things are flimsy. Steelbooks, anything in a jewel case, pretty much every TV on DVD set ever made... And compared to the items in that list, I'd rather drop a Digibook on the floor - I think that'd have the best chance of coming out unscathed.

Yep, and Warner should have learned their lesson for trying to think outside of the box. They eventually when it was too late, converted to standard dvd cases.

Omen gets my vote as the worse, and I can tolerate the digi-books, but I cringe every time I get one and have to put it in a separate pile so they don't get biffed with my other ones.
