Default Worst Blu-ray Packaging

By far for me is Omen collection. What are these people thinking with this flimsy crap? This reminds me of Warner and New Line's brilliant cardboard snapper cases for DVD. Man I hate this. I wish they would have all learned their lesson by now and just put them in the typical cases that all others are coming out in. Good example is Godfather. Even with all of those discs, they still put them in a case that won't fall to pieces in a few months.

Barak +1 the case looks odd next to all the normal cases and it really is a cardboard POS. But the PQ is *drools* mmmmmmmmmmazing!

The Omen Collection, never have I seen Blu-ray packaging so fragile that it bends when you touch it.

Heroes is another crappy boxset and I am upset that they didn't use the standard blu-ray cases.

thanks guys. I thought I was the only one that noticed. Those little rubber nubs are annoying, and destined to pop off.

As for Planet of the Apes, I was happy to pay extra just to buy the single disc editions. I avoided the box set because I thought that might happen.

I wish I would have done the same and waited for all of the Oemn movies as single discs, as I am sure they will.

you guys are missing the point on Baraka - the fragile casing is meant to reflect the fragile state of the human race!!!!!

The Godfather. My SD DVD set was the original slim box and looked the mutts nuts. The blu ray version is just a standard 4 dvd cases in a box, not much effort went into it but the quality of the movies is top notch.

It's supposed to be eco-friendly, which is why i put the disc in a replacement case and recycled the cardboard.

The original Godfather Collection on DVD had horrible packaging. It contained thin cardboard cases with brittle trays. I'm a big fan of the Blu-ray packaging for this title as well as the Blade Runner set. The keep cases do exactly what they were intended to do: PROTECT THE DISCS. It was a nice touch that Paramount created an attractive slip cover as well. They put their money where it was needed: THE RESTORATION. These are classic films not toys.

The Omen Collection is an abomination. That box is hands-down the worst executed packaging I have ever purchased. I created two inserts which utilize the box art for a pair of double disc keep cases (available at Sleevetown). I am willing to email the pdf files to anyone who would like them. I later found a used copy of Planet Earth for $20 and used the four-disc case for the Omen Collection. I sold the Planet Earth Collection on Ebay without the case and it actually bid up to $41.00. So, someone got a cheap Planet Earth set, the Omen Collection got a nice UK-style keepcase and my wallet got an extra $15 for my troubles.

WOW.... you obviously care about the cases quite a bit!

I never cared for the cardboard "Plastic clip-closed" DVD cases... but WOW.... that's taking it to a whole other level!

The original issue of the Discovery Atlas series used cardboard cases, but they were as tall as a DVD!
They have since been reissued in standard BD cases.

The Police Certifiable Blu-ray - all the discs fell out as they were not secure in the holder.

Yeah, I had the pleasure of coming across that with my copy of The Descent from the US. A security seal along the top of the case is fine with me as it peals off the case without leaving any residue, but when I tried to remove the seal from the side where it's stuck against the plastic sleeve, it made a right awful mess.

Oh well, I think I've tracked down some replacement slimline cases so I can chuck this ruined one away.
