Blade Runner 2049 easily. Going to see the original the night before. I don’t know why they didn’t do a double feature. Oh well, still going to blow my mind. My daughter can’t wait to see the first one on the big screen.

Edit: I stand corrected. My daughter found a theater doing a double feature Thursday night!

On Box Office Theory I keep reading that the Thursday BR2049 numbers are deceivingly low because of the length of the movie discouraging later showtimes, like that won't be a factor every night not just Thursday night.

I'll admit that I don't "get" My Little Pony. But that doesn't mean it's a bad movie. It's just not my cuppa.

Blade Runner 2049 was freakin' magnificent.

I haven't seen The Mountain Between Us, but come on! Kate Winslet and Idris Elba?! That's a pretty kick-ass cast.

Blade Runner is flopping, must have been very front loaded. It went from an estimate of $44M-$46M to an estimate now of $36.5M.

That isn't a disaster if it holds well. It is really to early to say. Wait until the opening weekend is in then see how it holds. It could hold really well due to how well it seems to have been received, but it could also burn through all its demand as the fan base may have all shown up immediately for it. Which may result in it being front loaded and large weekly drops.

That and in the current cinema climate, we need to see how it is doing internationally. America is still important but you can have a film do no business there and still be a massive hit. Times have changed and we need to wait and see how this plays out.
