Release date: Feb 2018 for now...

Shot on 65mm, 8K scans and a 4K DI. This should be nice.

Early contender for first HDR10+ disc? Many insiders saying it should be added to UHD spec in January. This has a spring 2018 release, and Fox was saying at IFA that they are slated to release a bunch of movies in HDR10+ in 2018.

I wonder if this will be released as a special edition including a Hercule Poirot replica moustache?

Honestly when I saw a publicity photo for this I burst out laughing. The thing looks extremely ridiculous. I don't think I could watch this without being extremely distracted by it.

Plenty of information on this in the HDR thread.

Cool What does the Blu-ray.com expert on HDR10+ say

HeatEquation's current position. But you can bet once HDR10+ content is out he will be spamming all the threads about how brilliant it makes the content look.

Are you people desperate for a format war even though there technically isn't one this time around?

All of this was before all the widespread issues with DV. Theoretically, it should have been an improvement over HDR10, but that has not been the case.

Anyways, stop derailing the thread.

Back on topic:

Picture quality aside (which should be great, by the way) the movie itself has the potential to be pretty good too.

Day one buy because my wife will make me buy it! She's already said we are seeing it opening day in the theater.

So that means I'll get to choose a movie to buy, too! Hooray!

As far as I'm aware, we own everything ever filmed from an Agatha Christie story.

We plan on seeing this in the cinema, and I'm hoping it equals or betters the previous version from the 70's.

Also anticipate a top notch UHD when the time comes. If it looks as good as 'The Martian' it won't need 10+.

I didn't realize this was Fox, would've totally pegged it as a Sony release based on the little marketing and promotion I've seen.

Huh, maybe it will actually make some money! Glad to see it has a proper 4K master, too.

Currently at 70% on Rotten Tomatoes. Not as good as I had hoped, but not a complete disaster.

Should be a good enough movie to be able to tolerate it for the PQ.

This is true. But let's not go that far. This movie will never win an Oscar, but it also won't be the trainwreck that Transformers was.

Just going off the trailers, I could see it being in the mix for Production Design, Costume, Hair/Makeup, and maybe Cinematography nominations. Not sure if it'd win any of those, though.
