If I'm not wrong, this was shot with the Red Epic Dragon at 6K resolution and all DI done in 4K.

Seeing as how the majority of the film has some sort of CGI and most of the effects were probably rendered at 2k...

Effects at 2K still hold up pretty well though. And quite a bit of this was practical since the action is mostly in the back half.

This release will be iTunes + UV. With Lionsgate releases, you can always tell if it will have iTunes if a DVD is included.

Blu-ray + DVD + Digital = iTunes and UV

It really depends a lot on the display and how well it's calibrated. Once we have 12 bit panels and the ability to cover more of the color spectrum, things may become more dramatic.

Well, yeah - that's what some of us have been saying for a while.

HDR10+ will provide the exact same experience given the current TVs/technology.

Not the exact same, there are subtle differences, as was stated in the Power Rangers review. Dolby Vision is still a bit better than HDR10+, I'm sure still images will show that. RGB Color will look better on Dolby Vision, for instance.

HDR10+ is only adding dynamic metadata, so it will sometimes show sharper details, and it should improve low light scenes over regular HDR10. So far, Mass Effect on PC has been a more dramatic Dolby Vision upgrade than Power Rangers or Despicable Me 1&2 on UHD Blu-ray. Maybe it'll make a bigger difference on Resident Evil, where so much of the film is dark.

I want Dolby Vision on a projector, but as it may never come, at least HDR10 isn't so far behind it as to put HDR10 to shame.

DV is technically the better format, but 12 bit and 4:2:2 do not matter on current displays, despite hopeful claims to the contrary. The dynamic metadata is what's providing a very very subtle upgrade, which is what HDR10+ will be providing.
