Default ONKYO TXSR506B/Polk Audio RM6750

I currently have no Audio setup, other then what's on the TV. I have a cheap Sylvania 26" LCD 720p and a Sony BDP-S350 Blu-Ray Disk Player. I will upgrade the TV next year to an 40-52" LCD. But at the moment, I just want audio. NewEgg currently has a good sale on a ONKYO TXSR506B Receiver and real good deal Polk Audio RM6750 Speaker System. I can have both of these shipped to my door for $419.98. Does this seem like a good setup for the price or is there something better?

PS: The TV was a Christmas gift last year, so I am not complaining.

That is a pretty good deal, but do yourself a favor and upgrade to the 606, or you just may kick yourself in a year when you upgrade your television. Just my thoughts.

506 is a waste of time if you want lossless audio.

After doing some reading around, I agree and don't think I will be happy with the 506. I think I am better off buying a few Blu-Ray movies and putting the rest of my money in my savings. Then when I have the money, come back look things over. I think I would be better suited with the ONKYO TXSR806 or ONKYO TXSR706B. So I guess, when I have about $800-1,000. I will re-look this over. At least with these two receivers, I can just upgrade the speakers over time.

You could get the 606 instead. I would look at the Onkyo 805 later on as well. For the money, you could also get some very good receivers from Marantz, Denon, Pioneer, ect.
