i brought it yesterday for around $26 aussie dollars but i have'nt had a chance to watch it yet but you might be able to get it on the cheap from OZ.

I personally found the UK disc,(which is also the Australian disc), to be lacking in the PQ area. It looks fine on the outdoor stuff, but just falls apart indoors. I blame a low bitrate encode. I await a US Sony release, as this truly is a great film.

Ok I'll just wait then, I actually loved this movie. I was looking forward to this and 3:10 to Yuma and Appaloosa, and Seraphim was the only one that was good (imo)

Well that's not too bad considering most of the movie is outdoors anyway. But what's the chance it'll even be released in the U.S. any time soon?

Not sure, but I'm prepared to wait. I truly love this movie, but the UK BD wasn't worth the money at all. I picked it up with Wall-E in an instore HMV offer and ended up exchanging it for something else.

I honestly thought that the UK Blu of Seraphim looked excellent, top film, with a 8/10 PQ imo.

For anyone interested, I wrote a review here.

The lowdown: An amazing film with one of the best audio experiences that I've heard from a blu-ray. The video is a disappointment and I suspect that DNR was used.

After waiting on Sony to give it a US release for 3 years, I finally gave up. If you like Westerns, then buy the UK release immediately (it's pretty inexpensive).

Sorry for bumping the thread, but I just watched this OTA HD(on AMC HD), I've never seen it before and thought it was an incredible movie. I can't believe it's not out on BD(at least in the US) yet. Neeson and Brosnan were fantastic in it.
So it seems the UK disc it not worth the import, that's a shame. Were there any notable bonus features on it?
I guess I'll be adding this to my long list of BD wishes!

Wow, talk about a timely bump of a 3-1/2 year old thread (which I did not know even existed). Last night, I was on amazon.uk thinking about adding this to an order I was putting together. Never seen it, but the online talk indicates it is good. I held off on it for now.

The UK has a bunch of great classic 60s and 70s westerns on blu-ray not available in the US yet. Last night I ordered The War Wagon, Rooster Cogburn (both starring John Wayne) Joe Kidd, and Two Mules for Sister Sara (both starring Clint Eastwood). They are region free and cheap. Finally got tired of waiting for a US release announcement.

Sony only released this on DVD in the US much like they did with Downfall. Unfortunately, it will probably never be released on Blu-ray, in the US, by Sony.

The UK disc is rather barebones and only includes an audio commentary and a behind the scenes featurette. Not only did they use a low bitrate for this release but they didn't even max out the space on the BD25.

Thank you for the detailed info. Wow, those numbers are pretty low. Such a shame this got passed by for a US BD release. Well here's hoping Twilight Time thinks about it. I love wide angle landscape shots, and this movie had a very nice variety snow mountains(heaven), and scorching deserts(hell).
Well it was nice to finally see it, even if it was OTA HD, modified Aspect Ratio and with commercials.
