Default standard tv set

will ps 3 or any blue ray player work on a standard tv. If so will I see better pictures than with a standard dvd player?

They can work but if your standard TV is 480, then you will only see a 480 picture. Basically a DVD.

Thanks for the reply, the tv I have is a Sony kp53s35 rear projection tv. I looked at the technical specs and it just mentions 3 picture tubes, 3 lens, horizontal in line system. Right now watching a dvd the picture is better than just watching tv that's why I am wondering about going to blue ray or a play station 3 if the picture would even be better

I have a HD ready TV. I can only connect by way of component cables.

I have both a Marantz receiver and Blu player. All I can get is 480 but (It might only be a placebo effect) I feel there is some upscaling on my old DVDs which makes me happy. For me my button is audio. Someday maybe an HD TV but for now, there is no need.

There is no 'e' in Blu-ray. Look at the website address notice the missing 'e'
