AV Club's worst films of the year

I cannot vouch for half the movies on this list but Fifty Shades Darker and Rings are not quite the worst. CHiPs, Kidnap, The Emoji Movie and The Bye Bye Man actually belong on this list and there are others that are not listed here that should be. (For the record, The Mummy isn't one of them.)

About 1,000 movies were released this year in the United States. You're telling me that Amityville: The Awakening was one of the 20 worst of those 1,000 films?

I cannot imagine Amityville: The Awakening being THAT bad. I understand it being lackluster but not being outright awful.

Exactly. It wasn't anything great. But it was enjoyable to a point.

I'm pretty intrigued to watch The Snowman and seeing what's so bad about it because judging on the talent and everything you'd think it would be better.

The Mummy should definitely be on there. What a shambolic mess of a movie.
