hi all, i got a optoma HD65 projector in a medium sized room,seating might be a problem,so i wanna know whats the closest area i can start seating from,thanks alot,Russell.

How big is the screen you are using?

And what aspect ratio? 16:9 presumably?

Since the projector is 720p, you will be more limited in how close you can sit before seeing limitation in resolution or SDE (screen door effect) compared to a 1080p projector.

I have the same projector using 100" screen , siting 14feet away. I still can't notice the pixel boxes at 8 feet

I'm 10' from a 106" screen with a 1080i image.

I've stood less than one foot from a 100" projected screen from a PT-AE2000 and can't see the pixel structure. This is due to the Smooth-Screen filter it employs which doesn't affect sharpness at all.

Other PJs do require some distance.

I have a 106" 16:9 and sit about 10 feet away. Picture looks great to me. I even stood right in front of it and couldn't really notice the pixels on a hc7000
