I don't get why Spacey is getting it so hard. I don't see Louie CK movies and comedy dvds being pulled, or them re-filming shit to get any other accused/confessed actor out. But Spacey is a whole different level. Look at what has happened so far, fired from this, shot out of All of the Money, Gore shelved. The guy did exist, and was quite liked before we knew who he really was. Is it cuz he had a "good-guy" image before, so this is more of a betrayal to fans? Now it's like the studio players are trying to erase his name, and it's poison, but others aren't? Just seems like he is getting it far worse than anyone else, and he was one of few to actually admit and apologize. There's your second chance right there, confess=death for career. But brag about it then deny, you can be president. ****ing ****ed world it is!
Or is it cuz it's a gay thing?

That's why I believe we might see Spacey appear in some no budget SyFy piece of shit in a few years, looking totally unrecognizable.

However, I do believe there's some higher ups in Hollywood that have a personal vendetta towards the man and the allegations gave them an easy excuse to finally blacklist film with ease. Maybe this was their way to get back at him for starting the big streaming revolution several years back.

I saw HOC S05 on Blu late last year, and was impressed by how good this season was - excellent. Yes, it wasn't as intense as past seasons, but it was still well-done & compelling.

That being said, I think the show should end with S06 (if they're even making a S06). I do think it can survive without KS - and, based on the storyline at the end of S05, it seems like his wife is poised to "take over" and he's in the sidelines (at least temporarliy). I do think Robin Wright & the supporting cast can carry a season. And, I can easily see KS being written off the show without a problem.

That also being said, if great TV shows last too long, they eventually run out of steam. I think HOS should definitely quit while it's ahead.

We need to see Frank Underwood finally get what's coming to him, not just disappear quickly.

Honestly, i'm not really into the show anyway.

First season was easily the best, but didn't really care for the show too much even then. Just too slow paced for my standards.

It was a horribly written show from the beginning. There is no difference in quality, it just used to be fun to watch.

I think why it was popular was because it was the first big Netflix original.

Now that we actually got quality Netflix originals, it has pretty much outlived its usefulness.

Well said. I sure hope the supporting cast can carry the load, because Frank Underwood IS the show. He is great this season! Absolutely despicable and his 4th wall breaks are so epic. I’m kind of curious what the first two episodes of S6 they shot, before the firing, were about.
Such a shame that everyone associated with this show: cast, crew and fans get slighted because of one person’s senseless acts.
The writers are really going to have to work overtime to give this show a great send offf minus the person the makes the show.

Yeah, it was praised due to Fincher directing the Pilot, the cast, and production values. There was a lot to distract from the weak writing in the beginning, but not once the show got more stretched out and less entertaining.

Poor Robin Wright deserves a better show to lead, but at least she only has one 8-episode season left.

The Sixth season doesn’t appear to have it’s own thread, so I’m not going to start one. Will just continue here.

Either way, I’m glad it’s finally over. The show has dragged a little and limped to an inevitable ending, considering Spacey’s dodgy behaviour.
I’m sure it would have been a more interesting final season if it had of finished with Spacey, but from a moral perspective, they had to toss him out.
While I completely agree with the decision, it’s a pity they couldn’t finish the way the writers wanted to, instead of having to scramble to put together what they did.

One thing I can’t quite tell yet is if it will continue to get the digipak treatment here in Australia. I hope they do, since the first 5 seasons were available in digipak form, otherwise will definitely have to import from Amazon US. Will look f*cking strange having 5 digipaks and 1 amaray.

I thought the 6th season was definitely the worst. I do think they were hamstrung without Spacey, who pretty much made the show IMO. Although things got a little crazy in the last few episodes of season 5 so maybe they never really had a good plan for ending things anyway. I'm still getting the Blu-rays to round out my collection.
