Question Question about 1st time setup with Polk Audio

Hey guys I have about $1000-$1200 budget to setup a HT. Leaning toward Polk Audio TSi series with 300 floorstanding, 100 bookshelf, CS10 center, and PSW110 sub. Is this a good starting setup and will it last? Any recommendations would be great!

I just started my setup too. Went with Polk Monitor 50's as fronts ($99/speaker), CS2 Center ($63 ), T15 surrounds ($50 ), and a Onkyo 605 receiver ($200 )

I havent heard much about the Tsi series, but i'm sure they're quality speakers. I'm VERY impressed with the monitor line, i might suggest going that route too so you can save a few bucks. I'm going with an eD A2-300 sub, which i recently heard in person and it is amazing!!!

Are you buying a receiver with the $1000-1200 budget?

I think you will be fine although I would shot for the CS20 for center. I am a polk guy myself. I have the monitor line which was replaced by the TSI line this year. Check out polk ebay store for some good deals. If you can find some monitor series they should be a lot cheaper since they are being replaced and they are just about the same speaker as the TSI series. Check my gallery out.

I second that opinion. Don't get ripped off. The TSi line is just replacing the Monitor line and is almost identical in specs. The differences, hardly hearable to the human ear. Look on eBay and amazon.com, although I doubt you could find much on Amazon.com. Picked up my setup for half the total MSRP...my point, same thing as the new TSi line, a lot cheaper.

And if you can't find anything on the Monitor line, the price you will pay for the TSi line, you can try to get the old RTi line which is better in my opinion. I just didn't have the money to snag the higher line. Being a college kid is a sad time...no money

Already have a Pioneer Elite receiver...a VSX-41...older but still works very well. Thanks for the input so far.

I have the TSI 400 series & CS 10 center and LOVE them.. BB has a deal going on right now when you spend $500 in POLK they throw in a Polk Powered sub (PSW-10)... not a bad deal
