Ofcourse I am not sure if this is legit but why would anyone make this up?

Anway I'm definitely hyped about this.

Dunno if anyone has been following my X940D trials and tribulations over at AVS by any chance? Long story short, I am trying to let Sony take it back and get me a full refund.

The plan was to get a 75Z9D for that money instead but now that these Z9F rumors are getting more persistent, I am holding off until there is more info on that.

it sound great, I'm sure the price will be equally dazzling.

CES attendance and amount of exhibitors grows every year. This year we had 185k people attending CES 2018. The 185k # includes exhibitors and visitors.

Other than the very high volume of attendance and increased companies exhibiting I love this show. This is where we get a good look at the future advancement of consumer electronics. Voice control is now integrated into many devices that all talk to each-other. But for me the big deal is the advancements in audio and video.

This year marks CES's 51 anniversary.

Sony, Samsung and LG are leading the pack in regard to premium video performance and this show exploited all of the great new advancements in video technology. Samsung showed "The Wall" a 146" full emissive LED display. Sony demonstrated their 85" 8K 10,000 nit FALD TV and LG showed off their 2018 auto calibration, higher peak lumens, Black Frame Insertion for better motion resolution for OLED TVs and two new series of FALD LCD TVs. LG Display exhibited the 88" 8K OLED, roll up OLED and acoustic surface audio

All high end 2018 TVs feature voice integration.

Great year for audio/video enthusiast with all of 2018 and further out advancements in our beloved passion.

Has there been any word on the pricing for the 900F at all? Do we expect it to be the same as the 900E or the 930E were on launch?

How many such units will hit the stores for 2018?
What kinds of stores will they be displayed in available for purchase?

If you read any of the articles concerning Samsung at CES their keynote signaled that they wished to be known as anything but just a Phone and TV company.

While CES is a fantastic springboard for all sorts of weird and wonderful gadgets, it's been years since a phone of any significance debuted here.
The problem with getting anyone excited about the phone industry, is it’s all about deals now such as Huawei failing getting ATT and Verizon backing was the biggest story. What can you say, it’s already using digital assistants, latest micro camera, thinner, waterproof, some kind of money management, so phones other then being hyped by a manufacturer or carrier are boring now. Don’t care about extreme short range 5G being used to proclaim faster phones. At this point in time the smart phone has evolved to the equivalent of a toaster as far as attractiveness at CES. Yes everyone has one, so?

Contrary to internet disinformation cartoons and such, the Sony prototype did not cause the power outage at CES.

And, more accurately - the visual assessment by a reporter…”even the brightest parts of the image on this claimed 10,000 nits screen didn’t make me feel uncomfortable. They didn’t hurt my eyes. They didn’t make me worry for the safety of children, or send me rushing off to smother myself in suntan lotion. Even though the area of Sony’s stand where the screen was appearing was blacked out (apart from the light being cast from both the 10,000-nit screen and five other more ‘normal’ screens sharing the space).

What the boldness of the highlights DID do, on the other hand, was make the pictures look more stunningly realistic and dynamic. More like real life. More direct. More intense.”

But right at the end of his write up was whats scares people desiring these 8k 10000 nit displays.

Assuming Sony or anyone else can find a way of delivering so much brightness without running foul of the consumer world’s increasingly prohibitive power consumption rules. This was, after all, the first CES in history to suffer a massive, Convention Center-wide power cut.

Exactly what I was saying before. I'm not linking one thing to the other, just thinking out loud about the power regs. A prototype 10000-nitter is great, but they'll likely have to do a bit more work to get it to run at the permitted levels of power consumption, and not just for Europe.

With an advanced algorithm that studies the detail of the image picture, zone by zone, and then regulates the electricity that is feeding the light zones behind the panel and the introduction of more and more local dimming zones in future models, the better you can distribute the electricity to achieve higher and higher peaks of brightness and still stay within government energy requirements. Not 10,000 nit consumer displays anytime soon, but higher than what we have now are not that far away based on the R&D which has gone into this prototype.

And that's basically the crux of this discussion I had with philochs: he's already trashing everything else sub-10K nit on the basis of a stunning prototype but an affordable consumer display that reaches that bright isn't going to be with us for a good long while.

Out of all this, I just want to see the cost of the LG C7 drop soon. I have until February 13th (with my Best Buy Elite Plus holiday return period) to price match this lower than the $2700 I paid in November.

IIRC it's Bulgarian. Not that that matters, I can't read it either. But hristo is quite well known on other forums for providing all this kind of deeply geeky info on TV ranges, what panels they use and other such stuff.
