One year I saw four movies in a row. I have no memory of which movies there were though, since this was about ten, eleven, or twelve years ago.

Only time I've done this is for marathons. Nolan's Batman Trilogy, Marvel Movie Marathon (6 films the most I've seen in a row at cinema), Die Hard marathon couple years ago.

Those are the ones I can think of atm.

I think that my record is 6 in a row. A good friend used to be a projectionist/assistant manager at a theatre in my hometown. For nearly 3 years I went every Thursday night and watched his test run of every film that was opening on that Friday. Most weeks it was 2 or 3. One week I am pretty sure that it was 6! The entire facility was switching presentations (7 screens). Started at about 12:20am, finished just after 12:00pm. First showing of the day was at 12:15pm. THAT was a LOOOOONG night.

No more than two. Back in the '90s, I'd often see a movie and then sneak in to see another that was starting a short time later. I'd hang out in the arcade for a half hour or so being going in to the second movie. Was pretty easy to do back then.

Two, though I can't remember what they were.
I did consider seeing Beauty and the Beast and Life on the same day last year, but enjoyed the former so much that I don't think I would have been able to get in the right mind space for the latter so soon.
So I saw it the day after instead.

Film festivals. Go to the first screening at 10am, and then see 5 until the day is done. With about 30-60 minute breaks in between to get food and stuff.
Ever been to Telluride? From what I remember, screenings start at 8am, and go as late as midnight

My drive-in does dusk til dawn marathons on memorial day and labor day weekend. The labor day one has five movies in a row. It gets really hard when the fourth movie is terrible and you've been drinking a lot and eating a bunch of crappy food and sitting in a car seat for 11 hours. But the drive-in rules and its awesome to see five movies for 9 bucks, and they give out free coffee, donuts, and egg mcmuffins before the last two movies. I love the drive-in.

That's where I usually go. Although, I go to the Telluride Horror Show, and not the Telluride Film Festival.

Non stop horror films for 3 days. In October. In a secluded, tiny mountain town. It's my favorite weekend of the year.

Wow, I read this thread as

Most movies sat through in a row at the theater

Which would obviously be a more interesting topic of conversation.

Two:

Paolo Sorrentino’s Youth
Justin Kurzel’s Macbeth

I had a splitting headache by the start of Macbeth, though, and couldn’t really enjoy it properly. Plan to revisit it someday.

I also did plenty of double features at the drive in with my parents as a kid, but that’s not in a theater, and I usually zonked out during the second.

6 for me. That was a couple of years ago when I went for the Oscar showcase at AMC where I watched the 5 nominated movies and then stayed and watched "Triple 9". If you've seen Triple 9, you know that it is probably not a good movie to finish a 13 hour movie spree on at 3:00 in the morning and that it made for a really depressing 3 hour drive home.

That said, I rarely ever go to the theaters and watch less than 4. I go once or sometimes twice a month, but, four is my minimum. I gotta drive around 80 miles each way, in order to get to my good theater, so, I try to get as many movies watched in 1 trip as I can. I really hate to waste gas. LoL

4 different movies on multiple occasions.

Have always wanted to try 5 but the movies never line up right.

I've also done 4 in a row of the same movie twice.
Watched Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith & The Dark Knight back to back to back to back but I was younger then. Don't think I could sit through the same movie 4 times in a row nowadays lol.

btw every ticket was paid for.

In theatres : 5

I used to do this every year on the 4th of July, since there was an 'American Movie Day' with avant-premieres on that date. It was in Antwerp, Ghent and Brussels. 3 in a row once in two months or so, happened too.

At home : 12

Me and my best friend used to organize a movie marathon at his home for us and a friend or two. Most couldn't handle it. I admit, though, after 8 movies we were zombie-watching.

I watched a seven-movie marathon when The Force Awakens premiered. There was another one with eight movies for The Last Jedi, but I wasn't able to attend.

Phantom Menace
Attack of the Clones
Revenge of the Sith
Star Wars
Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi
The Force Awakens
