Modern Warfare vs. World at War - Blu-ray Forum

I'm thinking of getting World at War but want to know if its worth it. I am getting back into Modern Warfare and am addicted to it yet again and want to know if World at War is worth getting?

Will it make me switch from Modern Warfare?

for me it was well worth it.

it takes a bit to get used to the maps. but once that happened, i was just as good than i was with mw.

i think it's a good improvement. lots of new perks. it's a more polished game i think. modern warfare, though, has cooler guns to me, which is more fun in that way.

W@W is a great game, If you liked MW you will enjoy [email]W@W. Me personally still play MW more often than W@W, just a prefrence I guess

see... thats what i think will happen... when i go to play online, ill still play MW.... what are the guns like in W@W... and what are the sights like??

It has its ups and downs. I play it; my only beef is the dang dogs; especially in Hardcore mode.

do they have sights on the guns?? playing MW when you dont have the red dot sight yet kind of sux...

yes, they have sights and scopes! i play both, but enjoy COD4 more!

How come no one recommened World at War for the Nazi Zombies mode? I am thinking about picking up World at War just for that unlockable online survival mode. I heard that it is unlocked after you play the game.

I also heard that you personally do not have to beat the game and unlock it to play it online as long as someone you are playing with has it unlocked. Does anyone know if this is true?

I have both and am stuck on W@W. I love this game, it is every bit as good as MW.

nazi zombies gets boring fast!

Personally, I really enjoy both of them. Once I purchased W@W, I've not touched MW. Some people won't like it because some of the guns are single shot bolt-action. Well, that's how it was in WWII people!

The zombie mode is pretty neat. However it is a bit repetitive (single-player).

As for the dogs, I couldn't agree more. They are a REAL PITA!

This is what happened to me. I was very excited for WOW, and it is a very good game with a good multiplayer, which I often play. But I still find myself wanting to play MW more.

Yea, well this is my biggest concern.. If i will like playing a game with single shot guns (for the majority)... idk i just dont know... i think im gonna stick with MW... as for the actual game.. im sure its top quality just like MW... but the guns and WW2 aspect is what is keeping me away from it

ive been curious about this also. my main question are how are the guns. for example, my main play for MW is m16 with red dot scope. i dont do well with the higher up scope and no scope i dont like. do they have anything similar to what im trying to explain?

i would say the closest gun to that is the STG-44 with the telescopic sight, even though the M16A4 had the three shot bursts, the STG-44 is fully automatic and it's almost identical to the MP44 on COD4!

i play W@W more at the moment, but i recently (yesterday) went back to COD4. it was nice to use my gold ak and m16 w/ red dot again! definitely rent W@W, i enjoy it, but i like COD4 better and i'm definitely looking forward to COD6/MW2 when it comes out!
