Hello All
I'm a relative BD Player n00b, but wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem. I purchased the Sharp Aquos BD-HP21U and Wall*E on Blu Ray for Boxing Day. When trying to watch Wall*E, the disc seems to freeze at the 2:55 mark in the previews and will not go any further. I've left this as long as 30 minutes thinking "maybe the load time is really long on this disc" or something. Didn't help. I went and downloaded the latest firmware for this BD Player, which turns out *is* the latest firmware on the player when I tried to update. I've gone and exchanged the Wall*E copy I had with a new copy, and same result at the exact same minute. does anyone have any suggestions? i'm considering calling Sharp Support, but not sure how helpful they'll be... |

We have to wait for a Firmware update in order to play this movie, I've already talked to Sharp about this. There are a couple of other movies that this player can't play as well (Chronicles of Narnia 2 and Wanted), they also said that the Dark Knight was causing issues but it works fine on mine. You will have to just keep checking the Sharp website or this one for an update, they said that it should be this month sometime. Apparently this is the problem with bluray players, they have to be updated from time to time since it's new technology.

i thought i would go ahead and call sharp on this. i was told the same thing, about the firmware update.
hopefully it's soon.... i really think a movie like Wall*E (or anything CGI for that matter) would be an incredible showcase for my LCD and BD Player |

I've watched Wall-E several times also Wanted,Old School,Dark Knight and Death Race all Blu-Ray and all played flawlessly. My Sharp BDHP21U has the Nov 6 firmware with a 1GB thumb drive that stays plugged into USB drive in the back.Great Blu-ray player in my opinion.

Oh, just let it go already! What will you guys say when the PS4 comes out?
![]() The Sony S30x has the same problem. Sony has a news bit up about the firmware patch coming at the end of this month just to fix Wall-e. It is a "hurry up and wait" issue. Just be patient. |
