Default How Many of the Best Picture Nominees Will/Have you Seen??

This should be interesting. Going off of the more than likely nominees, how many movies for best picture have you/will you see??

From what I've read, they should be:

Frost/Nixon
Milk
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Changeling
The Wrestler

If I've missed one or two, I'm sorry. This category really gets to me sometimes, I can count on one hand how many best picture nominees I've watched and enjoyed over the last 5 years.

Just so we are clear, I'm not bagging on anyone that enjoys movies like these, they usually are not my preference. I may see Benjamin Button and possibly The Wrestler, but other than that, nothing else really peaks my interests.

Milk..thats it

Frost/Nixon just got released here so I will see it this weekend.

Waiting for Button to hit the dollar theater after the reviews.

Did not even think Changling would get noms for best picture, but I had no idea what it was about so I will check it out.

STILL...STILLLLL waiting for The Wrestler to get released here.

Slumdog

The Reader
Revolutionary Road

Warner would be negligent if they didn't lobby all the way for The Dark Knight and not just for the cynical reasons of the death of an actor or simply how much box office it took in.

Most of the people who I ever asked about it loved it (not just fanboys) and many who watch it over and over again confirm their belief in how good they perceived it to be. I know that my surveys are confined to people I know and it's not to disrespect the other films on this list, but if I were in charge of Warner, I'd be hyping this thing to the academy on every conceiveable channel I could.

I agree but I still think it deserves at least one nominated and I rather see it go to Ledger's performance over the movie but I still feel that TDK was the best movie of 2008 despite both Wall-e and The Wrestler being fantastic films. If TDK doesn't get a nom, I would pull for The Wrestler.

you seem to share my views on this subject. this is where my comment of liking films that were nominated comes into play. blockbusters tend to not get enough recognition in this category, although there are a few exceptions. ie: Gladiator and Return of the King.

It is the sad thing about the Academy that they really never recognize big blockbuster films as being able for nomination because I feel that both TDK and Wall-e are deserving enough to warrant a best picture nom but I know it will never happen. At least I can be happy that Wall-e pretty much has the best animated film Oscar in the bag I only real hope comes that they can at least look at Heath's performance and realize it was the best supporting actor performance this year.

If they recognize any of the supporting actors in TT over Heath I will be pretty upset with the academy...and would send them a angry email.
