United Kingdom The Punisher UK Release

I saw The Punisher (Thomas Jane/John Travolta) is being released in the UK on February 9th and was just wondering if anyone knew of any differences there will be from the US release. Lossless audio? Extra features? Better PQ?

The LionsGate R1 release of this is absolute trash in terms of PQ, and features lossy audio to boot, along with some weird glitches in the chapter system. If this Sony UK disc gets better reviews, I'm all over it.

Sony always done there own encodes. As since its true HD for the picture more and likely use AVC. I got this on pre order atm.

I have the disc though I am yet to watch it. The PQ is said to be better than the Lionsgate release.

Just visit www.dvd-basen.dk and type Punisher.

Shame it's not the extended cut, makes it a better film.

I know that, but how does it sound? I've heard some lossless tracks that weren't too impressive. How much better is it than the US releases' mix?

Probably depends on your amp, your speakers and your ears. But imho, Sony's lossless track sounds better than the equivalent on my previous theatrical version dvd from the US. 'How much better' is hard to quantify....

I was more of saying the track on the US' Blu-Ray than the US DVD.

I'm going to have to think about this and decide if it's worth importing and how much better it looks and sounds...I'll be reading around.

The UK versions PQ, AQ are amazing. I love travolta in this. The first one is better then the sequel.

I just pulled the trigger and bought the UK import. With shipping, I got it for $10.24 brand new.

If I'm correct the original Punisher (Dolph Lungren version) hasn't had a uk dvd release yet. Would be nice to see it on blu. Anyone know who owns the rights for uk distribution?
