Is that surprising? The original artwork is almost always better in my experience, especially with Scream Factory collector's editions.

Have you seen Ils? I think The Strangers barely nudges it out but it's phenomenal.

It's streaming free on Prime Video right now, if anyone's interested and hasn't seen it yet!

Yeah it is sweet, might actually flip the art, still have the amazing new art on the slip.

I love Ils!
Got it on blu ray.
Like Strangers too but I think Ils is slightly better.

Got my copy today...with a noticeable crease on the bottom of the slipcover. Still, it's not too bad, and I'm gonna frame and hang my poster when I get home from work tonight.

I'm jealous. Mine got very close to being delivered, but now I'll have to wait until Tuesday. Had it shipped Wednesday instead of Thursday, I'd have it.

Oh well. At least it will still make the two weeks early date , unlike Silent Night, Deadly Night, which I received December 12, one week after the December 5 street date for all retailers.

I'm not entirely sure how the preorders work with the posters. Do they set aside the posters for the people who preordered it first or do they just give out the posters as they ship them?

About 6 months later, he started dating and his girlfriend wanted to watch it. So I invited them over at MY place.

Night. Curtains closed, lights out, surround sound jacked up, and MY RULE: NO CELL PHONES!!!!

This time, not only did she almost piss her pants from fear....SO DID HE!

He can't understand why it didn't scare him the first time at his place, but NOW....it's scared the crap out of him in MY home.

I swear...some people just DON'T KNOW how to ENJOY a movie.

ATMOSPHERE And your FULL ATTENTION makes ALL the difference.
Good write-up. This is probably one of the last horror movies to really have that tense 'edge of your seat' feeling when I saw it in a theater with no advanced knowledge of the film going into it. When it was re-watched at home more recently with my gal she talked through the entire movie and got her cell phone out, etc, and so of course the mood was entirely different and it became just another horror movie. But with the right atmosphere this movie is definitely pretty thrilling.

One of the most underrated horror movies of all time!!! Like I said in the other thread give it about 10 more years and there will be reevaluations for this film and it will be considered a classic that people just didn’t understand at the time.

What makes this movie so scary to me is that the home invaders had no motive to their attacks. A lot of horror movies will connect the main antagonist(s) to the main character and give them a reason why he/she is terrorizing them. In The Strangers the only motive for these people is that they were home and that they were going door to door till they found someone that was. No other motive other then they are psychopaths looking to cause harm to someone that they don’t even know. That is true horror and The Strangers executes the concept in spades.

Poster is framed and hung (right next to my Drag Me To Hell one)...pretty soon my extra room will be entirely ringed with Scream Factory posters.

I'll give the movie itself a view probably on Monday.

Anywhere to find this cheaper than $25? Enjoy the movie a lot but that price point is very unappealing.

$21.97 @ Bull Moose. Free shipping over $30 and they ship as items become available.

Watched it tonight...still damn scary and effective. New interviews are well-done and informative.

Question...what's that poster over Bryan Bertino's right shoulder during his interview? A red-tinted face behind a chain-link fence?

Credit card charged, just waiting on shipping notice to arrive. Should have this by Tuesday. Looking forward to seeing this again and watching the extra features.

However, when I pre-ordered it, it was priced at $34.93. Now it's down to $25.70, but they STILL charged my credit card $34.93 PLUS Tax ($37.38 total). I suppose I'll get the difference returned, but I don't understand why they don't just take out the current price and not worry about refunding the difference?

I think they print the posters to the next estimated round number over the pre-order number. I've never heard of anyone pre-ordering and not getting a poster that was promised, and I end up in many Scream threads. I have also seen slower selling titles still mentioning free posters on their site well after street date.

I will definitely rewatch this movie before the sequel. But, I already have it on Blu (a triple-feature w/ A Perfect Getaway and the Last House on the Left remake). Will I upgrade? Depends on the price. Under $20, I'll start thinking about it.

Question: How different are the Theatrical and Unrated cuts?
