Should I buy Harry Potter on blu, or keep my DVD version?
I have heard the PQ is not great and alot of good movies (Bourne) are coming out. Also I really like the books Thanks |

Hmm it's a hard one. I have all the Harry Potters on Blu but then again I never had them on DVD. But would I double buy them on Blu if I owned them on DVD ? hmm I don't know, tough one.

We have all the Harry Potter's on DVD, and we just bought the Harry Potter BR box set. I love the HP movies (and books for that matter) so it was more than worth it to me to double dip. I've watched the first 2 on Blu so far, and they're definitely an improvement quality wise over the DVDs.

I've got them on dvd and blu....definitely get the blu's! Its a very worthy upgrade. Picture quality is better and the sound is amazing! I have the box set and it was well worth the money. I'll probably never look at the dvd versions again.

The BDs blow away the DVDs as I have all of both. Nuff said about the quality!

I would probably wait to see what they do on the next one's release...I never owned them on DVD and bought the first 5 when they were released on blu-ray...I'm definitely happy with them. Watched the 5th one quite a few times actually...

I think Harry Potter would be nice, for the Special Effects, I am sure that would be nicer on Blu Ray. Also if you host movie nights, allot of people like Harry Potter, so that gives them a nice selection out of the variety. Also if you have little kids in your family, makes a good family movie.

I owned the DVD version of the Trunk set before I got my PS3 and HDTV. After that, I popped in my DVD of Order of the Phoenix and got some heavy rasterizing on the display. Really bad! None of the other four DVDs looked this bad, they were at least watchable. Fortunately, I work at a place where we buy specialty packaging as reference samples. I bought the Blu-ray Trunk set for myself and gave my DVDs to the office. They were willing to pay the bill too, so I didn't have to double-dip into my wallet either. And I can easily say from experience the BD PQ is loads better than the DVD PQ, at least for the later films in the series.

I recently picked up all the Harry Potter films on Blu-ray at a pawnshop for less than $10 each. I really had not planned on buying them, but I couldn't pass up that deal. We have them on dvd too.
The Blus look great- particularily Prison of Azkaban. Glad I upgraded to Blu. |
