Well Killobyte deals with virtual reality so I'm assuming it fits closer with the scifi genre?

Look up Ox, Orn, and Omnivore - some of the best work he's done.

Space Opera: The Gap series by Stephen Donaldson, pretty hardcore SciFi stuff

Classic SciFi: Robots of Dawn (building on the previous Robot novels by the author) and in general the Foundation series by Isaac Asimov

Other favorites: Rendez vous with Rama (Arthur C Clark), Gateway (F. Pohl), quite a few A. Van Vogt (Slan, the Null A series...)

He also did a series called "Bio of a Space Tyrant".

I dont read much sci fi so im not sure what to say. Ive read all of the ender books, shadow included, but dont really know how sci fi they really are.

Im about to start Pandora's Star by Peter Hamilton. Has anyone read it?

I know you would've buddy, but it is a hybrid of sci-fi/fantasy/thriller. I just like to spread the word about The Tower.

my wife reads that crap too, but she also reads some "good shit" . she pretty much reads anything just to avoid me, which is awesome.....and understandable.

I loved reading Dune. I couldn't make it through the rest of the series though.

I agree... although I have heard some from some people that some of the later books are even better than the original. I myself couldn't make it through the second one, what was it, Children of Dune?

I have to go with you and say The Dark Tower series is the next best sci-fi novel, although it could also be classified as fantasy.

The Foundation series is amazing as well.

The title alone makes my head hurt. They got way too detailed and complicated with the series after the 1st one.

I read House Atreides, House Harkonnen and House Corrino by Brian Herbert, but stopped after that. The new ones just don't compare to the original Frank Herbert stories.

Have you read the new ones by Brian that were supposedly made from Frank's personal notes to finish his original Dune series?
