Default Your Top 5 Favorite Science Fiction Films

I am creating a youtube video series (with influences from the Angry Video Game nerd and Happy Video Game Nerd) about my top 5 favorite science fiction flicks.

I'll link the website when I am finished, but I don't want to give them away now. I have to keep the audience someone wondering about the next I will likely create a series of videos. I am going to include movie footage from these videos as well. Is there any disclaimer, etc that I need to put at the end of these videos to compensate for copyright laws?

Anyhow, what are your top 5 favorite science fiction flicks?

A few films previously mentioned lean more towards fantasy rather than science fiction. But I would put these films on my list in no particular order:
  1. 2001: A Space Odyssey
  2. A Clockwork Orange
  3. Close Encounters of the Third Kind
  4. Alien
  5. Blade Runner
  6. Children of Men
  7. John Carpenter's The Thing
  8. AI: Artificial Intelligence
  9. The Planet of the Apes (1968)
  10. The War of the Worlds (1953)

Yup, legally all that stuff is obviously copyrighted, but I think it would fall under the Fair Use doctrine of U.S. copyright laws to use small clips like you describe, so you should be ok.

Check out the DMCA laws...

In any event, YouTube is liable for any copyright infringement, not you.

Default My Top 5 Sci Fi Flicks in 2 Eras

I think 5 films is too limiting so I'm creating a "classics/older" list and a newer list.

Classics/Older
1 - The Thing
2 - The Day the Earth Stood Still (with Michael Rennie and Patricia Neal)
3 - Them
4 - War of the Worlds (Gene Barry version)
5 - Forbidden Planet (ya gotta love Anne Francis, the film's heroine)

Classics/Newer
1 - Star Trek - The Wrath of Khan (as well as the majority of other ST films)
2 - Stars Wars - episodes 4-6
3 - Aliens (just the second film)
4 - Terminator 2
5 - The Thing (John Carpenter's remake)

I would add in other films such as the Ring Trilogy but I think those should be posted under another category such as Fantasy.
