Default Blu-ray Community Top 25 Science Fiction Films of All Time (please read first post)

I thought I would continue after the success of the "Top 50 Blu-ray Community Films of All Time" thread. (Which can be found here: Original Thread and Results)

How does it work? It's easy. You come up with a list of what you think are the Top 25 Science Fiction films of all time. Based on how they place on your list, the movie will receive a certain amount of points. The Top 16 films on your list will be scored accordingly:

1. 15 Points
2. 14 Points
3. 13 Points
4. 12 Points
5. 11 Points
......
12. 4 Points
13. 3 Points
14. 2 Points
15. 1 Point

Every movie placed after the 15th spot will also receive 1 point. So essentially, you only have to rank the Top 15 while putting the remaining 10 in no particular order.

RULES
1. Once again this will be a favorite film list. So anything goes. If you feel like Event Horizon more than Alien, go for it. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, it hampers the results

2. Science Fiction ONLY. No Fantasy films such as The Lord of the Rings allowed.

3. TRILOGIES or SERIES DO NOT COUNT AS ONE. Don't group the entire Alien trilogy as one. Do it separately, if you must, have the three films take the top three spots.

4. Do NOT put multiple movies at the same ranking. Don't put 3 films at the number one spot then start the list at 4 following it. Put only ONE film at each rank, or I won't count your list. Otherwise if you had multiple films at number 1, I would take 16 points and divide it by how films you had at that spot. Which kind of defeats the purpose.

5. Since this is a favorite film list, be respectful of each other. If somebody had X movie at number 1, who cares? The point of the thread is to find out what the community as a whole thinks is the best horror film.

6. Deadline: November 15, 2009 12:00:00 AM PST. I wont take any lists after this. So make sure you get it in before then. This should be plenty of time to make a list.

Don't worry guys, I'll be sure to have the results up on time this time. I'm making a few weekend trips this month, but I'm not busy with school until December again so there shouldn't be the long delay. I'll probably have my list up after Geology class tonight, so when I get back I want to see some lists.

Nice to see you tackle this one next Romulus, I know it must be a lot of work but I would like to make a suggestion. Could we maybe get a running list of titles others have chosen? I found that after posting my list and then reading other peoples lists afterward that I had missed movies that could have been on my list. It could be a good starting point for people exp. considering the amount of Sci Fi movies out there. Just an idea, I wont be hurt if you shoot it down.

Nah, those are just comic book movies. Which are a beast of their own. No pun intended.

Will you be considering The Fly, The Mist, Flatliners and Dark City as sci-fi? They have some horror elements, but I personally believe they are more sci-fi.

Thanks

Who judges. Lord of the Rings obviously isn't Sci-fi, but as a genre itself, Sci-fi can be very broad. Like last time can we go by IMDB and Wikipedia? I just need to know because I may need to alter my list.
