Default Blu-ray.com Community Top 25 Favorite Actors of All Time (please read first post)

You may be surprised that I'm going ahead and doing a list this month after I said I wouldn't. However, some changes in my schedule after the 18th have changed and I have a lot more free time for my Winter Break.

I'll still do the Top 25 War Films in January as this list wraps up. Upcoming schedule for the lists:

January: Top 25 War Films
February: Top 20 Films of 2009

I decided to change this list up a little bit and not do a film list, but the people that are actually in the films themselves, the actors! For this list come up with a list of your Top 25 favorite actors. I'm going to go ahead and allow actresses in this list for the fact that I highly doubt a Top 25 Actress list would be successful, let alone the fact people would be able to come up with 25 they like. I wish that weren't the case, but that's just my gut feeling.

I also want a minimum of 15 people for your list. Anything less and I won't count it. Nominations will be accepted until 11:59:59 PM PST December 27th, 2009. Results will be posted the following day December 28th, as I have come up with a much faster system of tallying votes.

As usual, the system works as the following.

1. 15 Points
2. 14 Points
3. 13 Points
.....
13. 3 Points
14. 2 Points
15 and everything after = 1 Point

Any questions or concerns feel free to shoot me a PM or ask it in this thread.

Fantastic! And very pleased that war films will follow later in January (that's the one I'm really looking forward to).

People should not that this says "favorite" and NOT "best," so I think criticism should be kept to a minimum. We know Czar is going have Denzel #1 and while most don't believe he is the best ever, it is perfectly legit for "favorite." That being said, I'm going to try to be objective.

Agreed, I thought that doing "Best" was going to cause a stir among people (more for the worse than good). I also have done "favorite" on the past couple of lists and we've still had good results, so I expect this to turn out the same.

I know mine is a little heavy with more modern actors, but that's because of the older films I've seen I haven't really seen many movies from the same actors.

5. Evan Rachel Wood
6. Bruce Campbell
7. Johnny Depp
8. John C. Reilley
9. Brad Pitt
10. Edward Norton

15. Orson Welles
16. Michael Caine
17. Mickey Rourke
18. Morgan Freeman
19. John Wayne
20. Jack Nicholson
21. Barry Pepper

I agree and it will allow ppl who have limited viewing tastes to list those they think are the best or those that they really like. Not everyone, unfortunately, has seen Brando, Stewart, Chaplin, etc.

Romulus, I think you should bold the part in your directions about actresses being allowed, just so ppl know.

No actresses in my listing. They would probably come in later but this is the way it is. Super hard list.

This is a good website to refresh memory for actors.

Absolutely....there will need to be some rules in place of what an actual war movie is. I don't think we should see films like Braveheart or The Last Samurai on there, and maybe not even Schindler's List. Does it take place during the war? Of course, but is it really a war movie? Debatable, in my mind. Sorry, that was off-topic!
