jbl ceiling mounted speakers - Blu-ray Forum

just wondering i have just installed 4 jbl ceiling mounted spekers in ceiling for my surrounds could i build a box to seal them up in ceiling to send the sound down in the theatre room would it improve the sound at all if so what would be the best material to use thanks.

I would check with JBL first to see if they offer an in ceiling enclosure for your speakers. Some manufacturers offer enclosures as an accessory. At one time I thought seriously about installing in-ceiling speakers in my home. Several audio shops all indicated that a quality enclosure will make or break an in ceiling application. In the end I went with conventional speakers. If you decide to go the DIY route you may help yourself by searching various avs forums for suggestions. Sorry I have nothing better to offer.
