Paramount Patriot Games 4K UHD (1992)

Patriot Games 4K Blu-ray

Quote:
Here’s the kicker: We’ve also now confirmed that Paramount is going to be releasing all five of the classic Jack Ryan/Tom Clancy films in 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray in 2018, as part of their promotional support for Amazon’s new Jack Ryan TV series (set to debut on Amazon Prime in August). So look for The Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, The Sum of All Fears, and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit all to be spinning in your 4K players before the end of the year.

Hot damn I would love to get these if they're done right! Hunt For Red October is a very good disc, but the other two Harrison Ford films leave a bit to be desired.

I definitely want The Hunt for Red October. Great to see Paramount jumping on the 'catalog title ship' at last.

This is f***ing fantastic news. If ever two movies needed proper upgrades it's 'Patriot Games' and 'Clear and Present Danger'. The blu-rays are shite - PG is rife with those weird vertical lines and CAPD is slathered with DNR.

First 4K UHD title to feature Sean Bean dying on screen?

Who doesn't wanna see that time honoured spectacle in ultra clarity.

The current BDs have moderate/noticeable DNR, which probably means the DNR will be back with the HDR?

Well the good news is the Blu-rays are so bad this should be a substantial upgrade. Well deserved. Some of my favourites.

You would imagine they are making new scans. Those old ones were from the HDTV era!

I hope the trend changes this time... the first 3 films were very early releases in the world of dvd and then blu ray... both times the result was severely lacking....

Paramount has a chance now to finally release definitive versions of not only the initial Jack Ryan films but also the early Mission Impossible flicks...

Hoping it happens!!

I dont remember why I skipped on getting the Chris Pine one on blu ray, but no doubt I will be getting all of these on UHD. I just hope that if there is a box set, that there are individual cases.

Hopefully they get the Lara Croft treatment. I’ll be more than happy with that.

This one is my favorite of the Jack Ryan trilogy. Ford is great in the role but I've always been curious how it would've been if Alec Baldwin returned as I thought he was fantastic in The Hunt for Red October. James Horner's hauntingly beautiful score is excellent as well.

I'll be getting this and C&PD at some point. Never much cared for Red October for whatever reason, and Sum is meh. But the two Fords and Shadow Recruit make for some solid spy action.

Yeah that odd vertical line issue seems to be strictly a Paramount issue AFAIK. The new region free Silver Bullet blu ray has them too unfortunately

The old 'Lara Croft Treatment' eh? Sounds like a menu item at a 'massage parlour'

If she looked like Angelina I’d be ok with that

Sweet! I'm certainly excited to see the presentation of this one, plus HfRO and CaPD. Sum of All Fears was an absolute shit movie IMO. Have not seen Shadow Recruit.
