Eh, I don't.

At the age of 30, I know exactly what my personal taste is in film. I don't have to see a movie to know if I'll like it or not.

Also, why hold users on some random internet message board to a higher standard than Academy members? They vote for the highest awards in film, and they're not required to see every movie nominated. Most of them don't.

Not writing it off. Obviously it's a widely beloved film. But you do realize everyone has their own personal tastes and interests, right?

I know, for a 100% fact, based upon a lifetime of movie watching and setting up personal preferences, that Silence of the Lambs is a movie I enjoy more than I would The Godfather. 100%. 110%. If it were "The Godfather" vs A film I have seen but am kinda iffy on, then I wouldn't vote. But I've seen Silence of the Lambs. I really like Silence of the Lambs. I know there is not the slightest chance in Hell that I'd enjoy The Godfather more. Because The Godfather isn't the type of movie I personally like or enjoy.

I really don't think that's a very hard thing to grasp.

You also completely ignored the second half of my posting. Why would you want the forum members of blu-ray.com to be held to a higher, more rigorous standard than the voting members of the Academy? That's more hilarious than me "writing off" The Godfather. You're self worth and self importance are set way too high there, buddy.

This is a simple poll. Film A vs. Film B.

If it was The Godfather vs. Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2 (which I haven't seen), I wouldn't vote because voting against something I haven't seen doesn't seem right to me.

You already have your mind made up about The Godfather without ever having seen it. We're talking about THE GODFATHER here ffs.
