Default Watchmen out March 6th?

Source: Variety
There's been a promising development in the ongoing legal battle between Warner Bros. and Fox over the rights to the upcoming Alan Moore adapted, Zack Snyder directed WATCHMEN that may actually result in the film being released on March 6th. Apparently, both parties have requested an upcoming hearing be delayed because they've entered into a settlement discussion and it has so far been quite productive. Settlement talks started last week and concessions have apparently been made on both sides. What this basically means is that WB will likely be paying Fox a whole heap of money to end the lawsuit once and for all and have the move released on time. As of now, however, January 20th is still the date when federal judge Gary Feess gives his final ruling on the matter but if the settlement talks prove successful, we may be able to put this whole business behind us and see the movie the first week of March.

I saw a few commercials for this today during the Ravens/Titans game.

And this belongs in the Movies/TV section.

I sure hope so. You gotta be disappointed with both WB and Fox for different reasons.

It would be really dumb for them to shelve or hold back the film no matter what the circumstances. Considering the teaser ran in front of the second highest grossing film ever and all of the advertising is for that date. Warner will shell out whatever it takes to get the film out on time, not to mention Fox doesn't want a HUGE fanboy boycott. Especially with Wolverine coming out soon...

This is probably just as anticipated as The Dark Knight and to keep people from seeing this definitely makes me disappointed with them.

Im kinda iffy about watchmen...I do like super hero movies

But some of the heroes costumes didnt seem too cool to me.

I never heard of them before this so maybe thats why but it just didnt seem like they looked like top notch super heroes like iron man and batman

NO OFFENSE!

Being a huge comic fan, I heard very little major rumbling about the film until the lawsuit.

Frankly the lawsuit will probably bring more attention to the film.

From the look of it, it would have been another "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" level flop.

Not really. Zac Snyder films aren't really flops at all.

Yeah, the two whole movies he's actually done prior to this really prove that.

What a track record!

Yeah considering how both of those were beautifully directed. You really want to hate on Zack Snyder? I mean are you serious? And 7 in the works.

No. I'm saying that two films don't prove anything.

Having 7 films in the works doesn't exactly count for anything.

Some think the lawsuit is a clever viral marketing campaign and that Fox and Warner have already settled on the terms privately. Not like any studio would ever do that...

Right on, I was lurking around and was just thinking, you know I haven't seen a Watchmen lawsuit post in like... 20 minutes, I hope everything is okay.

Actually they were both very successful. Do you think WB would just hand over Watchmen to just any director?
