Default Opinions on "The FALL" for blu ray

Is this worth a blind buy? Never heard of it, but liked the description of it. Sounds like Teribithia type of movie.

Thanks for your replies.

I downloaded the trailer that was available on PSN. That alone made me want to buy it. It's visually incredible and the story is quite good. To think this movie only released in 2 theaters ( i believe) is remarkable. And when you look at the movie and the director says there was no CGI used in the movie, that's absolutely incredible.

Do yourself a favor and buy this movie. It's the best blind buy i've done so far and set the bar very high.

To me, it was just OK. The main character is a little girl, and though she is a good actor, it was very hard for me to understand what she was saying. Since her character is key to understanding the plot, it was a problem for me. I wish now that I had turned on the subtitles then I am sure that I would have had a better experience.

Great movie. The little girl is from Romania so she does have an accent.

The visuals are pretty cool, but eeee gad, the story line sucks.
It's a bit...oh how do I say...big, broad and gaudy.
Stick with Baraka.

This is another moview that proves that my tastes often don't mesh with the critics and folks that give out awards. I read all the rave reviews about this movie and went ahead and bought it. I guess I just didn't get what the fuss was all about. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't terrible, and it looks amazing on HD. Maybe I went in with expectations too high, but I really didn't care for the movie, the story or the acting. Funny thing is that I really liked The Cell. This, IMO, wasn't nearly as good. Just my opinion though.

Recommending a blind buy is always risky. That said, I give it 5 stars for every aspect of film making. Its a bizzarre fantasy flick and I really liked it.

I have to be honest an say that this film was not for me. It looks incredible, but I just found it boring and incoherent. The film just did not keep my interest.

I bought this as a blind buy, but I had been waiting for it to come out on blu forever. This film, in my opinion, is incredible. It is visually beautiful, and I think the story is very clever as well, but I wouldn't go into this movie thinking it is like Teribithia.

Amazing visuals, decent but not spectacular story.

Definitely worth it though.

Thanks for your replies.
This is an extraordinary film, with a non-linear plot, and some of the best audio and picture quality available on blu.

Take a chance. It's not like anything you've seen before, and it's worth your time if you're not locked into witless comedies or something.

I was very happy with my blind buy of The Fall;but I am a sucker for great visuals, and like Squid said, the blind buy recommendation is risky snce it boils down personal taste.

Bought it blind because I loved The Cell, and was not disappointed. I was even more impressed when I watched the extras and found there is NO CGI used at all in the movie.

I liked it and I thought the story was good. I'm not sure why others didn't like it.
