Also known as "the white van scam", I know a lot of unfortunate people that have been tricked by it. Now, I live in Arizona and it happens here quite a bit but I was curious if you know any other states that it is happening in?

I live in California, and some guy drove by my work trying to sell me one.

Anyone who sees people doing this should write down the person's license plate and call the cops. It is illegal to do in many states so be aware.

The marks are usually affluent young men, college students, or others thought to have large amounts of disposable income.

I never knew that college students have a high disposable income. When I went to college, I was flat broke. Most of my friends were broke too. These days, most college students have loans that will take them another century to pay them off.
