Why would they do that? They've proven with the Mission: Impossible releases that, when possible (not an early low-res CGI film like Forrest Gump), they can and will do fantastic UHD catalog titles.

Majority of the CG was confined to the end with the train though. Even the helicopter was a miniature for several shots and not rendered.

Red October has CG - the bubbles stuff in the water. The models were shot "dry for wet" in heavy smoke at ILM.

It was indeed, the model for the red October was on one of those prop TV shows I saw the other year, thing is beautiful.
