Question PiP Audio on V for Vendetta

I'm wanting to watch the PiP "In-Movie Experience" extra on the V for Vendetta disc. This is my first experience with the secondary audio option. I am watching on a Panny DMP-BD30 hooked up via HDMI to my audio receiver.

I get the picture, but no audio. Do I need a second cable from the player for the second audio stream or something? Thanks.

Nope. You may want to check the menus though as some movies have a volume setting for the PiP and it may be muted (why I couldn't guess) or very low.

No, I can't find anything like that. Besides, I still hear the movie volume. If I turn it up or down, then that just affects the primary audio. Am I supposed to be able to switch over to a different audio track or something?

Ah - I figured it out. Stopped the movie and looked around the BD player setup menus. There was actually a "Secondary Audio" option that was turned off. Works now.

I literally just joined this forum to say thanks, and you are a genius. I spent an hour (including 2 disconnects) on the phone with Panasonic "technical support" about why the secondary audio didn't work.

They told me...1) call my TV manufacturer, 2) it wasn't possible to play secondary audio, 3) to call the disk manufacturer as it didn't appear to be an option on the disk, and 4) there was nothing else they could do and goodbye. And here, with one tiny change in the menu, it is all working fine. THANK YOU!

Glad I could help.

Just make sure to turn the "Secondary Audio" back off once you're done watching it. Otherwise, the player will only bitstream Dolby Digital out. You will lose all your lossless audio. Kind of a pain.

I figured out how to turn it on the other week, but I still haven't had a chance to listen to it.

Finally got around to listening to the In-Movie Experience secondary audio track. It was interesting at times. There are a lot of gaps though where it just goes back to the film.

It was interesting, but not necessary viewing. Most interesting part was the short interview with the founder of the professional Domino setting company that they brought in from Holland to setup the domino scene. I wonder how much they got paid for that?

The other funny thing was the actor who played Mr. Creedy - a very creepy, great performance that just makes him seem like a natural psychopath - comes across as just about the bubbliest, happy-go-lucky, wouldn't-hurt-a-fly kind of guy.

The main problem was that the director/actor commentary got WAY too political for my tastes. Yes, V obviously has some provocative politic themes. That's kind of the point of the film. And I read that the filmmakers were ripped by the V fanbase for toning down the anti-conservative diatribe that was in the original graphic novel. The creator even disavowed the movie for watering it down so much. Well, this commentary gave them the platform to spouse their beliefs without concern of anti-revenue backlash. Natalie Portman did try to reign it in a bit though.
