Default Kingdom of Heaven vs. The Patriot

For those who own or have seen both on BD, which has better sound and video? Or, which is the better to own?

The Patriot is a much better value. Picture and sound are better than perfect.

kingdom of heaven by a mile...although the patriot has a great audio track......kingdom of heaven PQ is excellent...surprising since its mpeg2...on a BD-50 though so that helps...people rave about the PQ of the patriot but to me, its not jaw dropping

What a cruel choice!

I can't pick it, frankly. Both are reference material. You MUST own both.

Along with Apocalypto. The enveloping jungle of that lossless is just creepy. Close your eyes. You're there.

Both are gorgeous but I'd say Kingdom of Heaven pips The Patriot to the post.. Also I'll 2nd dialog_gvf... Apocalypto's PQ is just staggering. I'd give a shout out to The Prestige as well while I'm at it..

Kingdom of Heaven, hands down. The Patriot looked pretty good, but I don't see why everyone keeps saying it's the greatest thing ever. Like I said, it's good but not excelent. I'm looking forward to actually hearing Kingdom of Heaven in DTS-HDMA someday. I wasn't a huge fan of the theatrical cut, but basically everything was corrected in the director's cut. Huge improvement over the theatrical one!

You are crazy if you don't own the movie Kingdom of Heaven. That's a required title to have.

Actually the two titles can't be compared. Complete different styles and kamera.
Kingdom of Heaven is fairly dark with mostly one or no light source. The colurs are also a bit muted and tend to be blue. The Patriot on the other hand is bright, colourful and the main light source is the sun. So actually The Patriot is in advantage, cause it looks more solid an real. Also the sharpness and the colour are more natural. But Kingdom of Heaven is a perfect example of mastering and reproducing black levels. So both are top notch in picture and sound and must haves, so get em both.

I have both and they are both equally great films. Both are a little long, but definetly worth it. The PQ and SQ on both are simply incredible. The Patriot is one of my top movies, and I'm excited to get another one of mine, Close Encounters Of The Third Kind. It's gonna be worth the $50 I will plunk down for this. Been waiting for it since I got my PS3 last year, and it will have ALL three versions. Can't wait.

I wonder why they did not include the Overture and Intermision music in the BD edition??

The Patriot's the best looking and sounding catalog title I've purchased. Kingdom of Heaven's a fine disc, and the director's cut is a much better film than the version that went to theaters. I was disappointed when I first saw it, but the film is a whole lot better longer. In term's of PQ and AQ I'd have to give a slight nod to the Patriot. Both outstanding, but the Patriot really impressed me. Also didn't hurt that I watched it on the 4th of July. Best Independence Day movie til FOX puts out Independence Day.

How is KOH's audio track? Is it a core DTS track? Since I have a PS3 I won't be able to hear the DTS-MA.
