Default Special Features in HD

I don't have a blu ray player yet, im getting one soon. I only have an HDDVD player (bought it for 30 dollars after it died). I've noticed that most of the DVDs I own don't have HD special features. Some of them even make you flip the disc over to the regular dvd side to watch them.

Do most new blu ray releases have special features in HD? I hate how the features look so terrible compared to the real movie.

Some blu's have special features in 1080p like the movie. Some use 1080i (i believe Transformers does). There are however movies that only use 480 for their special features.

Earlier releases typically had supplement material ported over from the standard DVD's, but now I'd say around 80% of new releases have extra content in HD. Certain studios like Paramount will pretty much be a sure thing in that regard. And you won't have to worry about flipping BD's over.

Ya that was a terrible concept. I hated combo discs on HD DVD.

to the OP, it just varies by disc, but most new release blu-rays have special features in HD. catalog titles vary more.
