Default Special Features. What does it for you?

I have seen a few threads on here about if you buy because of or not for features. Then it got me thinking. For those of us that do like them, what types do you like and why?

I'll start, (duh )

I very much enjoy alterntate endings, blooper reels, extended uncutt, and the making of's

I enjoy alternate endsing because it gives you a bit of an insight as to what the many different idea's the writers, or producers, or whoever have come up with.

Blooper reels-Becasue sometimes theyarejust freakin hilarious. that and it helps me relalize that they are indeed humans as well, I mean, they are just people like you and me wiht a job. theirs just makes them famous.

Extended cut-Gives insight as to what the people making the movie were looking for and visualize. that and I feel like I'm getting a treat.

making of's-because It's amazing what they can do to movies anymore. Just 5-10 years ago something wasn't even thought of yet. tech has brought it to an unreal level that makes or breaks some movies sometimes.

OK your turn

i only care about commentaries...i'm still looking forward to when taxi driver gets released on blu-ray....i'm hoping for the martin scorsese commentary

i love commentaries because it's like i'm watching the movie with the director....i obviously get to hear their thoughts on certain scenes

I want it all. I love extras, really takes you under the hood of films.

My favorites though are Audio Commentaries and Making Of Featurettes.

I'll often just toss a Commentary in while I'm on the net.

Probably because there's enough threads whining about extras.

This thread is about celebrating them.

Commentaries are good. Making-of....Bloopers...I'd rather an alternate ending/extended scene over deleted...but it's all good since it's free!

Commentaries and documentaries mainly but I do enjoy the blooper reels as well especially on comedies.

My favourite feature ever is The Shadow of the Bat 6 part doc included over the four original Batman films. Very informative with tons of great interviews from cast and crew.

Hehehe.. don't post anything. That would fry some people's brains. Everyone wants to hear my opinion!!!!!!!!

But on topic, I mainly just go for the bloopers and the extra scenes. Maybe on the fourth round, I'll watch it with commentary or something. But I don't think I've ever watched an entire movie with just commentary.

Special features are not a very big deal for me personally. I never check what special features are included before I purchase, and the lack of any special features at all is not a deal breaker on titles that I really like.

That's not to say that I don't enjoy some of them when they are present though. I will always watch an alternate ending when there is one. I usually will watch the deleted scenes too, and I watch the music videos if I like the artist. For some reason I just can't get into the making-of features, and I find commentaries and PiP stuff too distracting. Trailers I can take or leave, but I'm more likely to watch a trailer if it's an older film. The way they did trailers back in the 70's always makes me smile

don't really care about special features, Id much rather the studio use that extra space to present the film in the highest quality possible.

I like them, if they're done correctly. No fluff pieces or whatever, with actors with their heads in the ass of the director. That's why I looked forward to the doc on Titanic, but Cameron didn't want it on the disc.
Music videos are pretty much worthless to me, I never watch them.

I like extended editions and director's cuts, and I like director/producer/cast commentaries. It's rare that I don't enjoy seeing more of the movie, and I always like to hear the cast talk with one another about the project. Most other features I never touch.
