Extended Cut of The Punisher

It bugs me that there's a longer version of the The Punisher on DVD, but the Blu-ray release is only the original. When's Lion's Gate going to put the extended cut in hi-def?

i was going to get the DC of the Punisher as its only £10 on dvd is it any better than the theatrical cut which was ok but nothing special?

I didnt think either version was all that great, but an extended cut is and extended cut.

I think now that they are moving along with the movie 'sequel/reboot' like they are doing with the Hulk, I imagine they have no love for this Punisher movie anymore.

I can't find it right now, but when Thomas Jane (Punisher from the film this thread is about) was in an interview and basically said he was done with it because they weren't going to do it right...that basically took down most, if not all of my hopes for whatever the next Punisher film might be.

Growing up with the comics theres a bunch of storyline from the punisher I would love to see, and would have much rather them had made instead of the begining of the series. But of course they have to start at the beginning to inform people, but it bombed so bad that I dont see hopes of the sequel seeing the light of day.

For those who havent heard, they announced the new Punisher a week or two ago. Some guy from the Rome show on HBO? Most people like him. A lot of the fans of the first movie would have preferred Jane though.

In anycase, they are definitely moving along with the new one, so I cant imagine theyll want a new release of the first movie out there on the store shelves while the new one is in development.

I would guess the best we have to hope for would be a couple years down the road.

He was also in King Arthur. Decent choice.

I for one dont want to be paying between 20-35$ for a movie if in like 6 mo there just gonna remaster it ... just get it right the first time
