I got the german BD a while ago, and it looks so much better than the Scream version.

Don't get me wrong, I'm greatly in favor of original sound design, especially after the 4.0 track from THE THING but PRINCE OF DARKNESS' 5.1 track sounded stellar. I'm simply saying an option would have been nice.
Agreed.

Is it really a genuinely remixed 5.1 though? AFAIK many/most of Shout's 5.1 tracks based on 2-channel sources are upmixes, the same thing that, yes, can be accomplished by pressing a button on an a/v receiver. Especially when most of those 2-channel tracks are intended to be played back in matrixed (Dolby) surround to begin with.

As far as I know it is. There's quite a bit of separation in the rear channels, especially when exploding glass and the score is concerned. I could be wrong though, I don't claim to be a definitive source outside of what I hear with my own two.

i wonder how the transfer will be, like the existing German one (sans processing) or the SF version. that's the only important question...

well, it's StudioCanal, so it will likely be like the European transfer.

The collector set of Prince of Darkness is set for the end of November so it will probably be up at a later date for pre-order.

Sorry for the 50 questions. So will the collector's edition be on Amazon UK, or is it also Zavvi exclusive?

Where have you heard there's going to be a collector's set of PoD?

As far as I know it's just a steelbook of this title initially, presumably followed by a standard 4K release at some point. I've heard nothing of a collector's set for PoD in the same way there is for Fog, EFNY and They Live.

As excited as I am for these Prince of Darkness is the one I can wait on, so I think I'll wait and hope for a normal UK release. I'm not a big fan of steelbooks, especially with foreign language titles.

The artist behind the artwork mentioned on Twitter that Prince of Darkness will not be getting a collector's edition release.
