Hey, it got shipped today!!

And it is being carried by the Deutsche Post, so it looks like no Customs after all. Should be here Monday, or so (I hope)

Anything to keep in mind when ordering Japanese imports to the States? Never done it before (done UK, Canada before).

I watched the Special Edition cersion a few weeks back. The movie does look good but as it has been said before, this is not a master so it can look better. I dont regrett buying it thought as its a awsome set.

Thanks so much for that! I know this may not be appropriate for this thread but what's on the single disc release? Is it just the SE disc?

Also, are the menus in english on this release?

Don't know about the single disc release but the menus are in English/Japanese.
Basically they are English until you highlight the option, it then shows up in Japanese, move to the next option and that shows Japanese while the option you were on reverts back to English.

Not yet. Just import the French, UK or soon-to-be German copy.

None of which are from Lion's Gate...the US distributor. There's no indication there will be a re-release any time soon.

Sorry I didn't know you absolutely needed a Lionsgate release. Seeing as StudioCanal owns the best master, I reckoned you'd be attracted to that instead.

Got my copy today, this is much better looking in person than in pics IMO. Very cool and unique that it has no blu-ray band at the top.
