PS2 RE4 help. - Blu-ray Forum

Hmm how come my Resident Evil 4 played on my PS3 dosint deliver surround? it says MPCM on the display, and shows 5 speakers, but its only in stereo, and the game is in Dolby Pro Logic 2.. i did get surround once, but not anymore

Thats funny as I just re-bought the LE RE 4 last night. I played a bit but dont remember the audio output. Next time I pop it in I'll check for you.

BTW RE4 is one of the best games ever released last gen. In the past I've played throught that game at least three times. When I found out that I could play it again on my PS3, I couldnt resist. Can't wait till RE5!!

This all raises a ? from me: I've many games on older systems (PS1, N64), where you can choose between Stereo or Surround. How is Surround possible when there weren't optical audio outs on those systems?

lol i dont know. oh and yeah RE4 is one of the best games

but i personally think RE2 was better:P the whole RE series is the best

Stupid question, but did you change the sound settings under options to Pro Logic II? Its default is stereo, if I recall.

Lol, yeah i did, i keep checking it, just to see if it jumps back to stereo, but its set to surround Prologic2, thats what i dont understand:S

What do you have your receiver set to? If I remember, Yamaha's have an "auto" setting that will automatically detect whatever signal is going to it. If you're using one of the DSP modes, it might not be processing Pro Logic II.

It does auto detect, but if i press the Surround decode button it will eventually hit Dolby Prologic 2, so it does output PL2 now, thanks for the help

Hmm, i tryed to push that button, but somehow its locked, i can only use it in movies, but not games, it wont give me surround for the game

Can it be because u cant get PS2 surround out of HDMI? sounds stupid, but i have to ask.
