Angry live search cashback not worth the effort

since the deal was over they closed the hot deal thread, but i know some of us were waiting and having trouble with the deal so I started this one. this morning mine says failed as well

It has been somewhat of a pain. Microsoft did not make it as hassle-free as I expected. I have used it and gotten my money, but I have seen reports of people with disappearing cashback and other problems.

I was looking at mine the other day. I didn't even realize it but one of my cashback payments of $16.25 had failed 3 times. It did eventually get through so I would just wait and see.

When I had a different issue once they were real good responding to my emails. I would just sent them a letter if it still seems like it won't go through. Good luck.

you did the right thing opening a thread here, over there is a deal area and not a discussion after the deal is over It wont get closed here

figured I would post in off topic since it was more about a service than a deal and since it's not such a deal anymore

my time and effort is worth more than the $13 but on principle I WANT THE MONEY....... It looks like I have 4 tries, 2 that say cashback payment on the left and failed on the right, then one that says ebay on the left and processing on the right, then another after that that has cashback payment on the left and failed on right. anyone have the ebay processing one? does it mean it's working? I don't know why it would be in between failed though

I just received $125 off of my Wii bundle.

Mario Kart, Wii, and Wii Fit $450 - $125 = $325

Not a bad deal IMO.....

For those who are not aware, there have been some major issues wit this program over the past couple of weeks. My wife had a $200 payment come due. Live Search has the payment listed as "failed". She e-mailed them and was told that, even though the payment is shown as "failed" it did go through, and to check her PayPal account and she will see that it is there. It wasn't. She e-mailed them back-daily- with no response for 10 days. Finally she got this reply...

After working with PayPal to understand the failure, we think the account may need to be reviewed by PayPal Customer Service, or your cashback account may not reflect the payment has been posted correctly to your PayPal account. 1. Log into the PayPal account you used to pay for your eBay purchase.

2. Confirm that the payment does not appear in your account.

3. If the payment does not appear, please contact PayPal Customer Service to have your account reviewed, see link below.

4. After PayPal Customer Service confirms your account can receive funds, please reply back to this email with your PayPal account email address and we'll attempt to send the payment again.
We contacted PayPal, there is nothing wrong with the account. Sent another reply back to Live Search, here's the reply:

Looking at other threads scattered across the web, many are getting the exact same e-mail. Some people are not having a problem, but this is becoming a common pattern.

Bottom line, this is becoming a consumer fraud issue and Microsoft is ignoring it as best they can with canned e-mail replies and no contact phone number....
