I thought it was boring, and the plot was silly. I'm sure I'm in the minority though.

Hopefully Battle Royale and Survive Style 5 make their way to BD soon.
Probably not gonna happen with Battle Royale. If it does it will definitely be region locked. I don't see it coming to Blu - ray any time soon.

A person who likes the film also has a "biased" opinion too. I've not seen the film, but I'm considering purchasing it.

I would pay way too much $ for that release. I wouldn't even care.

I saw Oldboy for the first time during Otakon 2006 in the big screen ever since then it's one of my top 10 faves of all time. IMO this film could NEVER be shown in American theaters unless many things from the original are changed which would make the film just another revenge-plot story. American audiences just aren't ready, they weren't ready for the original Leon and they aren't ready for Oldboy.

Sorry.

The fight scene was weird. They just sort of stood there looking at him while he pummeled his way through them.

Really love this movie, has to have one of the best soundtracks of recent years, beautiful.
I would recommend checking out Crying fist if ure a fan of the actor (Oh dae su).
And also check out a Jonnie To film called The Mad Detective which can be almost a bizarre.

For the person asking about IP man, its coming out in hong kong on the 13th of this month, early indictions say it might be region A only, but can be imported frim dddhouse (highy recommended).

Thumbs up

Just watched Oldboy for the first time last night. What an amazingly weird masterpiece! I thought this was just a regular revenge film, as I knew nothing else about the plot going into it.....and wow.....I couldn't have been more off. For lack of a better term, this was one big mind-f*** of a film.

Oldboy is powerful and nerve racking from 10 minutes in until the end.
